neck/upper back pain Patient Testimonials
For about 6 weeks in May/June I experienced chronic neck pain which resulted i'n restricted neck movement and great discomfort. A friend suggested that I should see an osteopath and recommended The Highgate Health Centre, who then fortunately referred me to Robin Kiashek.
Robin diagnosed, during my initial half-hour session with him in early July 2000, severe tension which had developed in my neck, shoulders and back. This had developed over a period of years (which I had not realised). In this first session alone, my neck movement was completely restored. Robin's technique of manipulation and cranial osteopathy brought me instant and effective relief. I left with a most tremendous feeling of inner calm, overall well being and much increased energy, which on reflection, I had not experienced for quite some time. Each subsquent (weekly) visit brings continued and marked improvement. In the meantime, Robin has prescribed both neck and back exercises to assist day-to-day. The whole process has been very revealing, thought provoking, uplifting and on occasion emotional. I am already encouraged and energised to make changes in my life for the better as I have achieved more in the last couple of months than in the past number of years. I am very confident that, in due course, with his help and expertise, I will return to 'normal'.
Robin Kiashek has clearly developed a great skill. His ability to heal and his sense of gentle touch are really quite extraordinary. As a patient, his personal attributes of calm, caring, compassion and kindness, combined with his genuine warmth and sincerity are very evident and inspire trust. I wish him every success.

When I first went to Robin I was suffering from a variety of neck and upper back problems. My back felt twisted and unbalanced, with my left side feeling weaker than my right. My neck movement was severely restricted and I was conscious of my head jutting forward and my shoulders being hunched and extremely tight. This had all built up over two years and culminated with my neck seizing up completely, leaving me in terrible pain.
On my first visit, Robin miraculously removed my acute neck pain (whenever I say this to him, he says it's his job!). Over the next few months, practically all my symptoms and the associated pain have been slowly but continuously erased or eased. My neck is far more mobile and my posture realigned, the unbalanced feeling gone, the sharp pains at the top of the neck/base of skull have disappeared. Plus the migraines I have had every few months for 15 years have practically disappeared, to the extent that even if I feel one coming on, it doesn't develop into the expected 2 day migraine. Sometimes it can be very hard to describe Robin's treatment, in particular cranial osteopathy which I find both uplifting and relaxing. What I can say is that the way my back and neck feel now, compared to 7 months ago, has no comparison.
Through gentle (but highly effective) manipulation, exercises and cranial osteopathy, Robin has made a huge difference to my physical and emotional well-being. His holistic and genuinely caring approach is wonderful to deal with. I know that stress is the mani culprit behind my problems and slowly I believe his treatment is helping me deal with my stressed lifestyle. To anyone searching for an osteopath, I can highly recommend Robin.
